A warm welcome from the host. Our bicycles were safely stored away in a locked building. Room was very nice. The cooked breakfast was lovely. The self service frills like orange juice, cereal all nice. I seem to recall there was no fruit which surprised us so recommend that this is provided at breakfast. The pub did lovely evening meals at a reasonable price and we took part in the local quiz night. To look at the River Wye you can yomp over the field and it is there! You cannot easily get close to the river due to a cliff where sand martins nest. The pub was close to a corner garage which sold supplies like a small village shop would do. By the bridge was a beach from which h you can swim in the River Wye. Also we used a a newly opened cafe which was very nice. We hired a kayak from the canoe hire place and kayaked passed Hay on Wye to The Boat Inn and was fab. The river was low in places due to the drought conditions. We also from the pub hiked up Lord Hereford's Knob!
