This is a great property in a lovely beachfront location with stunning views. The boardwalk is right out the front and it's handy to a couple of cafes/restaurants and Sunshine Brewery. It's an easy 15 minute walk to the centre of town. Our unit was spacious and well equipped with comfortable seating and very nice furnishings. The aircon/heat pump and dishwasher were much appreciated and it was great that the toilet was separate from the bathroom. The owners are the best feature of this motel. They are friendly, welcoming and helpful and looked after my bag after I checked out. They went above and beyond when I was having trouble getting a taxi to turn up to take me to the airport and offered to drive me themselves. Luckily the taxi arrived with just enough time to get me to the airport for the final check in. Tip: It's difficult getting a taxi in Gisborne and they don't seem to routinely meet flights at the airport. It's essential to book them well in advance.
