An exceptional stay in the heart of Ghent. Erik was an outstanding host — attentive, professional, kind and genuinely welcoming from the very beginning. His hospitality made the entire experience feel effortless and personal at the same time. The property itself is truly remarkable: distinctive, full of character, and far from the standard hotel experience. It offers a unique atmosphere that perfectly reflects the charm and authenticity of Ghent. Its location is simply ideal — right in the city center, just steps away from the city’s main landmarks, restaurants, bars, and cultural highlights. The neighborhood is vibrant, lively, and full of energy, offering the perfect balance between local authenticity and a dynamic social scene. For anyone looking for more than just a place to stay — but rather a memorable experience immersed in the true spirit of Ghent — this is an outstanding choice. Highly recommended, and without hesitation, a place I would return to.

We had an amazing experience in Ghent, and this accommodation was a big part of it. The location is unbeatable, right in the center, and the room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully prepared. Erik was an outstanding host — always helpful, responsive, and genuinely kind. He made everything easy for us, from clear instructions to being flexible with our schedule, which we really appreciated. Everything was smooth from start to finish, and we truly felt welcome during our stay. If we come back to Ghent (which we definitely want to), we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!

Amazing location, little garden, quietness and the hammam! Super vibe and kind welcome from the owner. We really felt like valued friends. Will definitely come again and stay at Schopenhauer again.
