Fantastic location in very peaceful surroundings. Lovely private cabin in the grounds of the youth hostel with access to shared lounge and games room facilities and breakfast in the main hall. Friendly staff with good English and pleasant kitchen staff to serve breakfast. Everything we needed to self cater for a few days and hike in the mountains. Good coffee and tea facilities at breakfast, juices, toast, salad, fruit cheese and ham with cereal options . Vending machine in the games room sold beer and wine and snacks. Pool table available at 4 Euros per hour. Rooms were large and airy and shutters kept the rooms dark and cool.

Beautiful hotel/hostel in the national park with nice stuff and basic breakfast. The location is very good, there are some restaurants within 5 minutes car drive and we loved the great house. Would defiantly come back!

Breakfast was adequate, nothing out of the ordinary. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom simple and functional with lovely hot water. Cleaners check the room each day and make the bed. The grounds of the hostel are large and there is plenty of room to sit outside and relax. Lots of good walks within easy reach. Be sure to visit the nearby Museum, dedicated to the village of Vilarinho da Furna which was flooded to construct the hydroelectric dam/reservoir, and the Museum of the old Roman Road (Estrada da Geira) next door.
