As we walked in we thought oh no what have we done?! (2 pension age couples). The hallway is cramped and concrete, the stairs are industrial metal plate and open plan so why am I saying I liked it? Round the corner is a well equipped kitchen a lovely large airy lounge, a glass sliding wall onto a garden. Up 13 metal stairs is a large lounge with two large settees and a large TV, up 6 metal stairs and a large bedroom (full length about 8m) x half width about 3.5m with large dbl bed and large sofa, up 6 stairs another bedroom the same size with a toilet a shower and a bath with shower, up 6 stairs another bedroom same size with settee, up 6 stairs another bedroom with toilet cubicle, bath in the room! and basin. No walls - separation by very heavy full height and pretty good acoustic barrier. Ceilings all exposed pre-cast concrete slabs - I think I can say unique. It was superbly comfortable, well aired, full of light. We were delighted with our stay. Private parking for vehicle under 2m tall and on street paid parking (3€ per 24hrs) for our 2.5m vehicle. 20 minute walk to central Ghent, variety of restaurants with takeaway possible within 5 min walk.
