Drove to Ben Lettery during Storm Dave and was greeted with a warm fire in the sitting room of the hostel. After a quick tour of the facilities, I settled in for the evening. Staff members were cheerful and helpful. Hostel manager Mario was great, with excellent recommendations for hill walks etc. All in all, a great place to stay, rain or shine.

Cozy, clean, warm place, with fireplace, comfy bed, reasonable rooms and double glazed windows. Kitchen is well supplied, spacious with plenty room and a huge diner. Fresh Homemade bread and flapjack every morning with free tea and coffee. Staff and the Manager will take that extra mile to make sure your stay is pleasant and comfy. The view and the scene is just something else with a Lake at the front and a huge mountain at the back of the cottage. You may bump into a few wondering sheep`s but they rather cute than bothering. Don't forget your hiking boots as the mountain in the back directly accessible and too tempting - you wont get far in your pair of trainers. Away from noise, pure nature, fresh air, birds and mini waterfalls all over the place. It is a perfect spot to feed your soul. The public transport is manageable, it sounds far worst what it is - just make friends with the bus driver and he will look after you.

We loved the welcoming atmosphere, the view and the home-made breakfast. We slept very well. The toilets and showers are clean. The sheep near the hostel are quiet and nice to see by the window. Near Clifden, Connemara National Park and Kylemore Abbey, it was really convenient.
