Hotel Overview

Located in Galle Fort, a world heritage site, The Bartizan’s original structure was built in the early 17th century Dutch colonial period. The building has undergone careful renovations to restore the structure to its former glory. Situated alongside the fort’s perimeter, The Bartizan has a rooftop terrace and unique tower rooms that offer unsurpassable views of the ocean and Galle Fort.
The Bartizan’s ambiance is a mix of old world charm and modern luxuries, offering guests a tranquil retreat in an already charming town.
Spacious rooms come with private balconies. All rooms boast modern furniture and fixtures and luxurious bathrooms with complimentary bath amenities.
Guests enjoy a cool welcome drink upon arrival and daily breakfast. Free WiFi access is available throughout the property and rooms come with complimentary water and daily housekeeping.
Galle Fort light house is 400 metres and Dutch Church is 500 metres from the property.

Inside of the first set of doors is a second set of doors with glass windows which provide natural light while affording you privacy within your room. It has a wood platform bed and built-in sitting bench, and a closet which complements the colonial fort inspired architecture of the room. These are not sea view rooms. The modern bathroom includes a rain-shower and a handheld shower. The bathroom vanity is located in the room. The comfortable queen size bed sleeps up to two adults. Enjoy convenient access to the courtyard, the lobby and The Bartizan’s outdoor rooftop lounge with sea view, which is only two flights of stairs away.

Additionally, the sitting area can be converted into a twin size bed, large enough for an additional adult or a child.

There is a sitting area with a sofa and separate dining area in the room. The modern en suite bathroom features a large walk-in rain shower and spacious vanity. Two adults can enjoy a comfortable nights sleep atop a king size mattress. Combining luxury and comfort, this room is a vacationers dream come true. Kids 5 years and under stay free, using the existing bed. Please note there are no rollaway beds available for extra adults or kids.

The hotel rooms were great, spacious clean and comfy beds. The shower was a bit slippery, so it could do with some non-slip, but other than that, the room was perfect. The location is fantastic - right inside the Fort and close to everything. Breakfast was good, but they can improve on the coffee.

Beautiful. Tower room with patio terrace had fantastic sea, sunset and fort views. The room was small but worth it for the views. After 3nights we were very lucky to be upgraded to a new huge room with balcony that also had sea views. The staff (and manager) were exceptional. They found out it was my birthday and surprised me with a birthday cake and all sang me happy birthday. The breakfast options are outstanding. The location is perfect. The beds were very comfortable and the hot water was hot and plentiful. We stayed 5 nights. GALLE is so beautiful.
