Lovely place to stay when you want to visit Galle and Galle Fort. The rooms are spacious and clean. All the staff are very friendly and helpfull.

The Seagreen overlooks a park area and the fort wall. There is a balcony on the first floor with seating and games to idle away some time whilst watching the locals play cricket. On the second floor there is a larger balcony seating area with a bar- we enjoyed chilling here with a few drinks prior to dinner. Many people congregate on the fort to watch the sunset but you definitely have one of the best views from the Seagreen. The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk away from hustle and bustle of the fort centre and a 15 / 20 min walk (5 min tuk tuk ride) from the markets of Galle and train station. Our room was spacious, with a good amount of cupboard / storage, well presented, good air con, on-suite private bathroom with well stocked toiletries and importantly good water pressure on the shower and it was hot. There was a kettle and tea/coffee and a large bottle of water. It would be nice if this was automatically replenished daily but it’s nothing to ask so a very minor thing. The owners are meticulously clean and undertake Sambrani / Dhoop a ritual of blessing regularly throughout the day which involved walking through guest area with hot charcoal and incense which made the guest house smell beautiful every day and deterred mosquitoes and insects which was welcome. The staff and owner were all extremely proactive, attentive and polite, conversational and friendly (and not at all intrusive). Although I didn’t try a cocktail, I can recommend the Seagreen special mocktail - it was passion fruit heavenly. We enjoyed an evening meal and breakfast here - both needed to be ordered in advance. We found the prices to be extremely reasonable and portion sizes were good. After 3 weeks in Sri Lanka and traditional fare I was after something a bit lighter and enjoyed an avocado and prawn salad and it was delicious - prawns were huge and cooked perfectly - the dressing on the salad was super refreshing and really elevated the dish.

This was an outstanding location, amazing staff and wonderful facilities. On my birthday all ten staff welcomed me with a cake and birthday song. They were friendly, informative and genuine. The rooms were great with air con, shower and cleanliness all excellent. The balcony for breakfast and coffees overlooking the green and sea were great, while the rooftop bar was fun and the arrack sour a particular favourite. Overall this was a superb stay and memorable for me and my family on my birthday. Thank you.
