In a rather expensive five-star hotel, a boy, maybe 20, practically grabbed my cup in the waiting room next to reception, forbidding me from making coffee because it was only for arriving guests. We waited there for over two hours for a taxi. I'm almost 60. The rude behavior was appalling. The rooms were nice, clean, and spacious. The cleaning staff was okay. Breakfast was terribly monotonous: three salads, two kinds of eggs, and two kinds of sausages all week long. The juices were delicious, the coffee was terrible. We'd run out of prosciutto for two days and now they're down to one portion for the entire hotel for the week. The hotel's intimacy is a plus. The bar staff were nice and smiling, but it's a good thing there weren't many guests because the wait for a drink was 15 minutes. The pool water was very cold, surprisingly lacking heating. The sea was exciting but only for the most confident swimmers. The rocks were dangerous, and one ladder was old and needed renovation.

Breakfast content was very rich, breakfast area was absolutely mesmerizing just atop ocean. Also location, facilities, pool area, direct access to the ocean for swimming, ocean view from our room were just exceptional. We also thank all staff members and especially Mrs. Lisbeth Albuquerque who was Guest Relations Manager who was extremely helpful and kind to book us Fado dinner at the hotel restaurant (Fado music was amazing), bus tours for two days that allowed us visit main historical, cultural and nature spots, all there is to see across the island (west and east of the island). We had such an amazing holiday with so good memories. We really recommend Vilo Lido Pestana Ocean Hotel.

The location is truly unbeatable – right by the ocean with direct access to the water and breathtaking views from the room. Starting the day with the sound of the waves and a sunrise view from the balcony was truly special. The hotel is impeccably clean, and the entire space feels fresh and well cared for. The staff were kind and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The food was superb (breakfast was particularly delicious), with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, and the overall experience far exceeded our expectations. Would happily return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Madeira!
