Friendly staff. Welcome drink. Great choice of food for breakfast. Excellent location right in the centre by the ocean.

The hotel has a very high potential: 1. perfect location - just few minutes walking from the "old" center of the city and great view from the balcony, 2. nice stylish decoration - furniture, old oil paintings, flowers etc., 3. swimming pool with not heated but still quite warm water and restaurant terrasse provides additional comfort, 4. great breakfasts with good choice of fruits, 5. great personal in both restaurant and bar, 6. free parking (not bookable!), 7. quite warm reception personal (see also what to improve), 8. SPA (see also what to improve) etc. Overall, me and my wife enjoyed our week on Madeira but we have had a bit higher expectations on the hotel than we got. I would rate the restaurant high and separately from the hotel. However, I would highly recommend to the hotel management to improve few things described further.

Very good breakfast but the coffee and tea was substandard and poor taste. Staff service was good.

Excellent breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. The location was perfect for Funchal old town with its cobbled streets and restaurant.
