Great location, beautiful garden and shared pool. Super outdoor seating space . Clean with lots of nice touches- bath gowns, plenty towels. Silvie who looks after the place was very helpful. Quite a compact space but there were only two of us and we loved it.

Susana was easy to communicate with and gave us many good ideas for what to do whilst here. We loved the beautiful secluded garden and pool, with many flowers and a terrace area to relax in. The lounge and bedrooms were well furnished and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. We also liked the more leisurely feel of this part of Funchal/Sao Martinho. Others have mentioned the steep narrow road the property is on which you have to walk up to get to your car. We didn’t mind it and enjoyed the challenge but I wouldn’t recommend it for those with any mobility issues. Not least because cars are constantly coming down the hill with few passing places to jump into.

Almost everything about the property was perfect: it was comfortable, very well equipped with kitchen tools, had plenty of sunlight, a great bathroom, amazing terrace, and lovely garden! Susana, the host, was absolutely exceptional, friendly and responsive. Parking isn’t possible on the premises itself, but further up the street (about a 3-minute walk away from the property). Funchal and restaurants were perfectly accessible by foot, but keep in mind that you will have to pass by some hills. Although the property is located close to a somewhat busier road, the large distance between the gate of the property and the house itself ensures complete peace at night as well as during the day in the garden.

Bordal House is a beautiful property and has a relaxing pool and gorgeous garden, with fruit in abundance. The apartment was spacious and we loved the outside dining area. It is near some great bars and restaurants. Our host made us a very tasty chocolate cake - one of the best I have had. Thankyou so much.
