“Great solution for local experience”
12 Jun 2024
It was great to spend a night in this house. We never experienced such a tradition Japanese home and it was simply a very nice experience. The owner doesn't speak English but somehow we managed to understand each other. Recommended :)

“Fantastic stay, great host. Clean home and new appliances. Great location. Would stay again”

I love our host patience of explaining everything in the home. We loved the space it offered and it being right next door to 7/11. It was super clean and organised.

“Very spacious and excellent location!”

Upon arrival the owner came by to introduce himself and to show us around the house. He was super nice and helpful and had his translation app at the ready :) So it was easy to communicate! After our smaller stay in Tokyo, we were looking forward to something a bit more spacious. And this was just perfect! It's a two bedroom house for four people but it was just the two of us. It has a nice spacious living room area as well as a big dinner table with plenty of seats. The lights are a bit bright and white though, so it doesn't feel that cosy. But that's definitely not a big deal! The bedroom we slept in had a nice Japanese aesthetic and the two futon beds were very comfortable! This room definitely felt nice to be in. We were delighted to be able to use the washing machine to do some laundry, and were able to dry it in the livingroom. The gas heater as well as the warming function of the airco helped a lot. The location is just superb! Very close to a 7-eleven which is always a plus, and 10 minutes away from Mt. Fuji station. It's located on the main street so if Fujisan is visible, it's not hard to miss :) the Sengen Shrine is also very close by, maybe around 20-30 minutes! When we arrived there, the entire city was fogged up so we literally couldn't see a thing. And since we were just staying for two nights, our hopes on seeing Mount Fuji were pretty much diminished.. we hiked to the Sengen Shrine (go early because it can get pretty crowded. We were there at around 08:00/08:30 which wasn't too bad!) but unfortunately there was no Fujisan to be seen.. we hiked all the way to the top of Goten 2nd summit which we can absolutely recommend. It's quite a bit up so could be a little tough. But the views are definitely worth it! Especially when Fujisan is visible I imagine..
