The property had real old world charm but was clean and beautifully presented. The staff Sylvia, Corrinne and Cyril (cellarman) were excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome, it is a beautiful place to stay and we would recommend it. The pool is an added bonus at the end of a hot day!

Château Richelieu is a beautifully maintained historic estate, located just a 15-minute drive from the center of Saint-Émilion, surrounded by rolling vineyards. The interior was just as stunning—our room (Athos) was spacious, charming, and cozy, while the living and dining rooms had that quintessential vintage French elegance, lovingly preserved. The hostesses were absolutely wonderful—so kind, thoughtful, and attentive, always going out of their way to arrange things for us. Thank you all so much for making our stay truly special. We had the most amazing and romantic getaway, and it wouldn’t have been the same without you—or Château Richelieu.

Large room, very comfortable bed, good shower over bath (Athos room), friendly staff, good breakfast, fridge in kitchen to store your own food, lovely pool area, great location for exploring Fronsac. Fronsac walking loop (12km) is great, Chateau de La Dauphine is close by (lovely wines and shop, very friendly staff), Bistro Pharell nearby is lovely food and drinks.
