Cabernet Cottage looks unassuming from the outside but it has everything you may need for a quiet weekend in Franschhoek. We were in the area for sport, which meant being out for well over 12 hours, and it was so nice to come home to this cottage for a very warm shower and comfortable bed. It's also very quiet and peaceful at night. It's just a pity we were there for such a short period of time and were therefore not able to relax with a book by the fire but I can see how that could've really elevated the experience. We had made a mistake with the key on the one day of our stay and the owner sorted it out for us in no time!

the location was superb and I wanted accommodation with character, and this sure was. It was so peaceful with a running creek, beautiful flowers and in a vineyard and orchard. The old character was appealing. Dogs visited, and Guinea Fowl and squirrels visitors each day.
