Excellent location. Lovely pool and steam room. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. Excellent en-suite. Friendly and helpful staff.

This was a very last minute booking due to another property that I had booked and received confirmation for, but had overbooked therefore could not accommodate us. Although initially I was not in the best of moods due to this error after a long drive, when I arrived at Grand Hotel des bains my mood suddenly changed, this was thanks to the delightful welcome we received on arrival by the young man at reception, in fact there were two and both very polite. The man who took over dealing with my check in was so professional in every aspect, he gave a thorough introduction to the hotel and its facilities along with some very useful local knowledge of the area. The hotel itself although looking a little tired and in need of some maintenance in the reception area, was perfect for us in terms of location and for having a spa facility. This is only a three star hotel so not expecting any form of grandeur, therefore perhaps the name is not quite fitting. Despite my personal thoughts on this please do not be put off at all, what this place lacks in elegance it certainly makes up for in the friendliness and hospitality of all members of staff who truly make you feel welcome. The bedroom was tastefully decorated and fitted with everything you would expect with quality furnishings, the en-suite showroom was contemporary and sparkling clean. There was a small function in the dining room beneath our room but this did not disturb us in anyway. There is parking available in a secure garage next to the hotel at an extra cost but I chose to park on the street which is free parking. Breakfast as I recall has two charging options, I opted for the higher rate which provided a nice breakfast but unfortunately not the best I have experienced. This was my first time in Fouras and I was completely blown away by the beauty of this little seaside town. I hope I will visit again in the future and I will certainly rebook into the Grand Hotel. Thank you to each and everyone of the staff.
