Great location; beautiful house and spring fed pool; breakfasts were delicious and showcased different fresh fruit juices daily. Gabriela and her family couldn’t have been nicer!

The place was lovely, the house is clean, well equipped. It is definitely a great nature around the house. Gabriela , her husband and their children were so kind. We appreciated to have the opportunity to discuss and discover their farm eco-project. If we come back again, we will stay for a longer stay without any doubt

Superb breakfasts were brought hot to our cabin at a time to suit us. Different each day reflecting local culture and using much of the farms produce. The hosts are friendly and kind. We had no transport. Isolated location but they drove or arranged lifts to local shops, pharmacy and activities. Eg. Thermal Springs and chocolate making on a cocoa farm. Showed us Sloths and Toucans and explained nature in the forest. Allowed us to milk their cow! Used a translator app to converse well. Invited us to eat at their house with them and their sons. The home made, spring fed pool is another joy. An outstanding weeks holiday.

PLEASE, TRUST US!! :) Over 3 weeks in Costa Rica this accommodation stands above all. Most people travel with a rental car, this allows to pick Gamgas Lodge and have a really really magnificent experience (La Fortuna is 20 min away and not worth a stay in the “city”). The location Gambas Lodge instead is worth every penny: private natural pool, basically private access to the rain forest (we even spot a sloth), incredibly good breakfast, fully fitted house and most importantly a heart warming local family that completes the entire experience. We loved their passion for sustainability and got a unique insight into how they run a small scale farm with limited ecological impact. Visit Gambas Lodge and thanks us later 😏
