The location was fabulous. Florence is a city where you will do lots of walking. This accommodation is right in the middle of everything. So really convenient to get back to, to drop off shopping or just have a rest. The room was spacious and clean. The staff fabulous and very helpful. When I go back to Florence, I will be going back to stay here.

Relais Accademia is located about eight minutes walk from Florence’s famed Duomo - the major tourist destination in the city. It is not a hotel - more like staying in a private home - so don’t expect 24/7 service as you’re really on your own. I stayed for five nights and it was just perfect. The room was extremely large, with high ceilings and well appointed with tasteful decor, quality fittings and possibly the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in ! Although located in a bustling street, the double glazed windows prevent any noise reaching you. The shower was great, although it was quite small and the bathroom facilities excellent. The host, Federico, provided extra tea bags or sugar on request following a phone call, although not necessarily straight away but this was not a concern to me. He welcomed me, helped carry my suitcase up the stairs - yes, there are few elevators in Florence - and was a gracious host despite only being in attendance occasionally during the day. I would highly recommend Relais Accademia.
