The accommodation was a very affordable price and could be reached either by car or 1.5km walk from the town centre. The kitchen facilities were very good and had all cooking equipment you would need. The shared bathrooms were clean and a good size, although as there were only two showers per group of rooms there was sometimes a little wait. Flam as a town has loads to do and see. We can recommend the sauna.

Located in the Flåm Valley, this hostel is about 1.4 km from the train station, with the actual hostel building (the red house) a short additional walk from the main property. I had one of my most comfortable and memorable stays here. I was traveling during the off-season, which likely made a big difference. My room had eight bunk beds, but it was shared by only two people, including myself, so it felt very spacious and relaxed. The hostel provides bed linens and towels at no extra cost, which is a nice touch. The kitchen is fully equipped, making it easy to prepare your own meals. I especially loved the cozy and slightly offbeat atmosphere, it really felt like staying on a farmhouse rather than in a typical hostel. The bathrooms are shared, but during my stay, this was not an issue at all since there were very few people. I imagine it could feel a bit more crowded during peak season, but in my case, it was very comfortable. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay here. If you like quiet, cozy places with a farmhouse vibe, this is a great option in Flåm.
