Sue “The perfect Médina stay”

The property was beautiful. A really lovely riad. The location was perfect - right in the heart of the Médina. Breakfast was lovely as was dinner. The team at the Riad were friendly and helpful and the Hammam was exceptional. We used Omar as a guide in the Médina and he was fantastic.
Jaco “And incredible experience in the heart of the Fes Madina, the attention to detail and service from our host and especial”

Liew “A memorable stay in Fes.”

There was no variety in the breakfast menu as we had the same food for 4 mornings. A lot of the items were fried as well, luckily none of us were on a diet! The orange juice was very fresh and sweet. Service was amazing by the Mamadou and the other gentleman. Packed breakfast requests were also met without any problems. As strawberries were in season at time of visit, it would have been great to have them for breakfast as well.
Jiemin “Superb”

We stayed at Bensouda for five nights and the experience is unforgettable. As the friends we met the hotel put it, it's a haven in the labyrinth of the Medina. The hotel itself and our room are beautiful. Past comments have noted all the important things. I just want to add that utmost attention is paid to the details. the effort the staff made to tend to the comfort of the guests is exceptional. Upon entering the Riad, one is welcomed by the scent of orange blossom oil and incense which are burnt according to the occasion. Occasionally joined by the scent of cedarwood, which is burnt in the fireplace in the restaurant on cold nights. One night we were the only guests in the restaurant and they lit the fire just for us. The restaurant is top notch. The only place I found in Fez that doesn't just do the generic tourist menu, but some stuff that I'd only read in Paula Wolfert's book of Moroccan cuisine. Speaking of which, shall I also mention the scent of saffron wafting from the kitchen during the daytime when dinner is being prepared? The placea is pristine. The floor in the communal area is srubbed vigorously every morning. The raAin cover of the central courtyard is opend and closed according to the weather, so as to ensure optimal level of fresh air, humidity and light. On the day we left, someone was treating the moss on the roof terrace (who would have even noticed that?) and I saw staff re plaster the walls. The staff are some of the gentlest and kindest folk I've ever met.
