This is a self-catering home. The location is in the very small and peaceful village of Faial da Terra, East of Povoacao. The kitchen is well-equiped for you to cook all your meals at home, if you choose to. The town has one or two small grocery stores, so we tended to go to the larger stores in Povoacao, or whilst we were out exploring the island. This is an ideal place to stay if you want peace and quiet. It could cater for a family or for 6 adults (3 bedrooms with a double bed in each). Two bedrooms are upstairs, along with a bathroom; the other bedroom and bathroom are on the ground floor. Parking is plentiful - you could probably park a couple of cars without any issues. The family room is large enough with a couple of arm chairs and a large sofa. The open plan is very comfortable and we were cool enough, though it never got too hot during our stay (June). There are two waterfalls that you can hike to just up the street, but we never made it there as we were so busy exploring using our car. The East of Sao Miguel is beautiful - a bit rugged, but there are so many free and public places to stop along the roadside to have a picnic or take a stroll. We were truly surprised at how well maintained many of these places are, and just how many there are! We only stayed here and made it as far as Furnas in the South and the 2 tea plantations in the north. The host was contactable and helped us with any of our queries. The neighbor has some chickens, so sometimes you will get a whiff of manure from the courtyard side, but that's no fault of the host.
