e stayed at Ella Nature Valley Homestay for 3 nights, and it was the best decision of our trip. The Ganirmal family offers more than just a room; they offer a true home. The father, Priyantha, is a local pharmacist and paramedic, and his professional help was invaluable. When I faced a medical issue, he immediately arranged a specialist appointment at SEOS Hospital in Bandarawela. His son, Vihan, went above and beyond—he drove me to the hospital, stayed with me during the long wait, and managed all the clinic’s bureaucracy to ensure I was taken care of. Their dedication and kindness during a stressful time were truly remarkable. The accommodation consists of two private rooms built on the rooftop, providing a completely private space with a massive terrace. The view from the balcony over the vast rice and vegetable fields is incredibly peaceful. The family also has their own greenhouse where they grow fresh produce. Every morning, we were treated to a delicious and varied Sri Lankan breakfast, with different local flavors each day. Vihan was also a great guide, introducing us to local attractions and handling all our transportation needs. We felt like part of the family from day one. If you want to feel safe, cared for, and welcome in Ella, look no further than this place

This place is fantastic! For the price it is completely worth it. The family are extremely accommodating and go above and beyond to make your experience in Ella the most enjoyable. With their help, we rented a scooter to see all the major tourist areas ourselves. It also gives you the opportunity to explore more of the remote areas. If you would like to see the sights, the son is happy to help for a very good price and with details that you would know on your own. You MUST have lunch or dinner made by them one day. Their mango chutney and dal was the best I’ve had in Sri Lanka yet. The room was spacious with an outside area for you to look at the farm land whilst you read your book. They are happy to make you tea or breakfast if you need it.

We had a wonderful stay at this homestay in Ella and can wholeheartedly recommend it. The accommodation was very clean and well equipped – it had everything we needed. We especially appreciated that filtered drinking water and dishes were always available. We were even able to use the washing area to hand-wash some clothes ourselves. We stayed for four nights and found the experience incredibly relaxing. It was also great to have the option to book a delicious breakfast and enjoy dinner at the homestay after an active day in Ella. Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious and prepared with a lot of care. Another very practical service was the transport offered at regular tuk-tuk prices. The hosts are extremely warm and helpful. They share the experiences of previous guests and therefore give excellent recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area. Our children felt very comfortable here, and so did we. From the very first moment, we felt genuinely welcome. Thank you so much for the wonderful time we were able to spend in Ella, surrounded by your family. We would love to come back again!
