Very quiet and with a nice Mountain view! You can also see the famous train.

The house is very close to the train station if you are a little daring and cross the tracks. If you go around it is quickly more than 2 km. Mr. Kumara, who takes care of the house, is friendly and helpful, you can also store your luggage with him after you have left the room.The furnishings in the room indicate that an artist who knows how to work with wood was present. At night, monkeys walk near, so clean up any banana peels behind you if you don't want a night of partying.

I had the so far best stay in Sri Lanka at Green Paradise! The two apartment complex is located about 5min walking distance from the Railway station outside of Ella city center. On the opposite side of the street you're surrounded by tea plantations, and from the shared veranda you look up the mountains and the train passing to / from Badulla in afar. This makes the location perfect for a decent sleep from the otherwise pretty noisy center of town. The room is spacious, clean & tidy, the shower warm, and the bed very very comfortable. Further, it is equipped with a big mirror, moskito net and ventilator. The owner Shan is an incredible nice, honest, and forthcoming person, and he & his sweet family are offering all kind of services for good prices (e.g. laundry, TukTuk, guide, etc.....ask him if he'll drive you to Yala, all possible). If / when I'll come back to Ella, I'll most definetly check in Green Paradise again....

The owner of the accommodation gave us an upgrade, and our family of four ended up staying in a very spacious family room with a beautiful view of the Ella mountains. We really enjoyed meeting his lovely family and are grateful for the warm welcome and hospitality we received.
