“Lovely apartment in quiet, rural village, with pleasant views and private patio.”
22 Jun 2025
Las Vistas had everything I needed for my 12 week long, self-catered stay. For any requests, hostess Yolanda was, as always, friendly and helpful. The apartment is quite new, it is neat and clean and was easy to maintain that way during my 12 week stay. My weekly cleaning took me less than half an hour. The bed with spring mattress is sturdy and handled my fairly heavy body and injured back very well. Bed linen and towels were fresh and plentiful. Additionally, I got to put one of the comfortable sun loungers (tumbona) on "my" patio, and got to enjoy the stars (and the sun) from it for the duration of my stay. I previously stayed at Las Vistas for 2 months during the spring of 2023. This year, like my last stay, I loved being able to come back from a hike or a long bike ride, take a shower and put up a quick meal, then relax on the patio or on the comfy couch. Absolute bliss! My personal recommendation would be alternating bike riding days with hikes along the ridge of the nearby Caldera del Cuchillo or down to La Santa village and the isleta. The light around either sunrise or sunset i marvellous (just bring a head lamp or torch for walking or biking in the dark). The rural location of El Cuchillo still allows for quick travel to anywhere on the island. I've never rented a car on Lazarote, and have gotten my groceries by bike or, occasionally, on foot. Traveling to Puerto del Carmen for putting my suitcase in storage was comfortably done using the local buses (Guaguas), which I would also recommend trying for sightseeing and exploring Lanzarote in general. Planned activities for the next couple of years means I will miss out on staying at Las Vistas, though I hope to be back for another long stay in 2028. Las Vistas is highly recommended!

“Overall it was amazing”

1. The property: the cleanliness and tidyness of the apartment, which is also cleaverly designed and has good quality furniture and fixtures. From sitting areas either inside or outside the south facing front door, views of a lovely little garden can be enjoyed. The private, north facing patio has great views and is generally sunny all day. A smaller part of it gets a bit of shade from the top floor of the building, which makes that area just a little bit cooler and perfect for reading outside or just lazing on a sunbed after a bike ride or a hike. 2. The location: excellent for bicycle riding and hiking with breathtaking views, El Cuchillo allowed me to take a more thorough look at these amazing northern parts of Lanzarote. After six previous stays in/near Puerto del Carmen, during the spring (allergy) seasons of 2014-2019, having my exploration base in El Cuchillo offered a brilliant, new and contrasting perspective to starting every trip from out of PdC. As I have never rented a car while on the island, I generally do my exploring by bike or on foot. El Cuchillo provided the opportunity to get more than just a quick glance northwards during a ride through P.N. Timanfaya or down by Caleta de Famara. It feels like a warmly vibrant community during the day, but offers quiet evenings and calm nights, rather than the loud nightlife of the cities on the southern shore. At the same time, shopping malls and restaurants really are just a short bus/taxi/car ride away. 3. The people: the professional and friendly hostess Yolanda, who provides excellent client attentiveness without being overbearing. When push comes to shove, she really does go above and beyond the call of duty. Also, having always friendly and helpful neighbors in permanent residents J and A (in the building's third apartment) provided a sense of security as I explored the island as a solo traveller during my fairly long stay. 100% recommended! 🤩

Great apartment, and wonderful location away from the touristy areas. Quiet little town. The apartment is small but it has all the necessary, and you will be around the island all day, not spending much time in there. The terrace is great to have breakfast in the mornings. ☀️ You won’t go wrong booking this place.
