Fabulous location close to historic centre of Edinburgh. Staff were outstanding - particularly Duty Manager Michael - he was wonderful at checkin and when we discovered a problem of our own making he went out of his way to solve the issue. Happy to say he is one of the nicest hotel staff we have encountered in our travels.

Loved the staff, they were so helpful. Great location too but lots of steps to get to it from Waverley: do not try and walk it with heavy cases. You need a taxi even though it’s very close as the crow files. Very comfortable room, nice little kitchenette and great tea and coffee supplied. Good value breakfast. Quite pricey but it was high season and was in a fabulous spot.

Reception were very friendly and helpful. I was early, they stored my bag while I strolled around and it was in my room when I returned. Big room with big bed, lovely linen and pillows, very cosy. Very clean. View of street, opening window. A safe, drawers & hanging space in wardrobe with iron & board. Loved the kichenette with microwave, fridge, kettle, cutlery, crockery and assortment of tea/coffee. Even had washing up liquid. Large walk in shower with hand shower as well as rain shower, plenty of hot water. Lovely big towel & hand towel. Full length mirror with socket near. A/c that I could control. Big desk with lamp & mirror. Socket & light switches by bed.
