It is situated near bus and train routes and the breakfast was good, if a little expensive.

Stayed in a small double room. No view but quiet and enough space for me and my medium sized well behaved dog. Bed comfortable, staff helpful and kind. Able to take dog into bar area for restaurant menu and dogs allowed in segregated area at breakfast. Bar food excellent. Best to book a table if hotel busy as they stagger the orders but means that once order been placed, food arrives quickly. Family friendly as well as dog friendly. Stayed in the hotel several years ago and just as good now. Already booked again for another family reunion in a few weeks time. Compared to more central hotels feels like excellent value for money.

The reception staff were extremely attentive from the moment we arrived. We hadn't specified on the booking that my gran would be in a wheelchair as were happy to use lift if need be but upon hearing this the staff offered us a room on the ground floor for ease which really helped on our stay The general manager was also very friendly whenever we met in the halls or reception We have stayed once before and loved the facilities - the gym has a good few machines and the swimming pool is equipped with sauna and steam room which is always the highlight of our trip
