Brilliant location, staff went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable. From providing Scottish treats on arrival to offering an additional broad range of items and books in cupboards on each floor, 28 York Place was a home away from home.

Room was very nice and comfortable. The staff at the property were very helpful and friendly, and made the stay comfortable. Close to some great restaurants and the sights.

Very clean, well maintained, tidy. Comfortable beds, great shower, lovely toiletries. Very convenient location with respect to Waverley train station and bus station, as well as a huge shopping centre just across the road. Friendly and helpful staff. I’ve read other reviews and can see some guests struggled with the temperature in the rooms. I imagine it is rarely as warm as it’s been recently in Edinburgh. Since the hotel being situated in an old townhouse, it is simply not possible to install air conditioning throughout. However, we did have a desk fan and a big floor fan in our room, which was enough to cool us down. At £140 per twin room I was very pleasantly surprised at the value for money. Would definitely highly recommend!

The atmostphere of the entire place was beautiful and clean. The staff were very friendly too. The location was very strategic for the places that we required espeiclaly the bus stop!
