The room was good. View excellent. Suggestion: Have a breakfast staff “monitor” keeping eye over hygiene BECAUSE My husband & I noticed a number of people in Breakfast Area using their HANDS to pick out slices of bread despite utensils being available also some jam/yoghurt dropping into the other bowls of cereal

Breakfast is very good, in a large room with plenty of tables and chairs. An excellent view of the beach from our room,close to the lift for a disabled person. Nice large lounge on ground floor. good modern bathroom with walk-in shower.

We stayed here for 3 nights in August 2025. The hotel, the room and the view from our balcony were very good indeed. The room itself was very clean, but I do have to say that the actual balcony (5th floor) was dirty and full of cobwebs. The balcony could certainly do a very good clean, but the room itself was very clean indeed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. In fact, I could not fault the staff at all and they do deserve the praise. . The only thing I would perhaps wish was better, was the food. The fried English breakfast was fine and there was also a few choices of cereal. However, the continental side of the breakfast was not as good. There was salami and cheese and that was it. Not even bread rolls to put the salami and cheese in. They did have sliced break for the toaster, but that was it with no other selection. Most hotels would have a selection of either breads or rolls for the continental, but not so here. There was a small selection of mini pastries, 3 that I saw, but overall I felt that the continental side of the breakfast could have been better. Having said that, it was not the end of the world, but for someone like me who does not enjoy a fry up, there was not enough choice on the continental side of things. We did not eat any lunch or evening meals at the hotel, as we felt the menu was not that great and struggled to find anything we fancied, so we ate outside of the hotel for lunch and dinner. This was not a major problem as there are a few choices nearby for food, but would have liked to have seen more "A la carte" choices on the menu. No, we are not stuck up, but we both enjoy fine dining. To be honest, we had a nice stay and will certainly stay at the View hotel again if we came back to Eastbourne. In fact, next time we plan to stay for longer. Overall, we did like the hotel, and would certainly recommend it to others, but I find it hard to believe that it has a rating of only 3 stars.
