The fine print
All guests need to be fully vaccinated to use accommodation on public conservation (Department of Conservation) land, as per New Zealand government requirements. The Bird Hide sleeping hut is located within the boundary of the Department of Conservation reserve, for which we have a special concession. Please send a copy of your My Vaccine Pass at the time of booking.

Very quiet and peaceful location with a lovely view of the lagoon. The sound of the bird life was beautiful. An amazing beach just a short walk away.

We loved the cuteness and quaintness of The Bird Hide, it's position looking over the lagoon and the cleanliness was superb. Very novel. The local pub for tea, the cafe for coffee and cheese rolls. Perfect. Hosts very friendly and available if required, but weren't needed as they had thought of everything. We were seeking peace and back to nature, and that's what we had. We would recommend for a little getaway.

Beautifully set up, clean, new, fresh, stylish, private and cosy. Felt like a really special welcoming place that I could really relax in. Owners respected my privacy the whole time, I felt safe and I had everything I needed.
