Motel Overview

Aurora on George, formerly Cargill's Hotel, has been completely refurbished and offers a stylish 4 star rated motel, situated around a beautiful centre piece garden. Free on-site parking is available.
Each suite features a creative style with designer furniture and pops of colour. All rooms offer a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. An elevator provides easy access to the first floor, and there are also ground floor rooms to cater for all mobility requirements.
Aurora on George is situated in the heart of Dunedin, just 5-minutes’ walk from University of Otago, and 5-minutes’ drive from Forsyth Barr Stadium. Dunedin Airport is a 35-minutes drive away.

This Signature Executive Studio is located on the upper level, and boasts rich navy, teal and bright blue décor and floor to ceiling windows that look out onto the beautiful garden. Relax on your luxurious king bed and enjoy the 50 plus satellite channels on the 32-inch flat-screen TV. 10GB of free WiFi is provided with additional WiFi available for an extra cost. Other facilities include a kitchenette, an occasional chair and a large desk. The modern, tiled bathroom has a glass shower, a toilet and a large well-lit mirror. This Premier 2-Bedroom Suite is located on the first floor and features a full kitchen with stovetop oven and dishwasher. There is a dining table with seating for 4 and two 2-seater sofas to sit and relax on or watch the 42-inch flat screen TV. 10GB of free WiFi is provided with additional WiFi available for an extra cost. Both bedrooms offer a Super King bed or twin singles. The tiled bathroom has a glass shower, wall-hung vanity with large well-lit mirror and a toilet. You can request your preferred bedding configuration in the Special Requests Box at the time of booking. Please note that the bedding configuration is not guaranteed and will be confirmed upon arrival, subject to availability.

Immaculate rooms, amazing shower water pressure, sky tv, heated floors and air conditioning, offsite car parking and friendly staff.

This motel is situated in a great location on George Street and is handy to the city centre. The room was comfortable and warm and it was a nice touch to be shown there by the manager on duty. The home baked cookies were a lovely added extra and having Buddha Sticks right next door as a place to eat is also a bonus if you don't want to go too far to for a meal. Free parking is also great to have.
