Mabie House Hotel is a hidden gem and we're instantly smitten! Nestled right on the edge of the Mabie Forest park (you can literally walk out of the grounds straight into the forest) and only 10 minutes from Dumfries town centre, it's an ideal location for walkers, dog owners and adventurers and perfectly sited to explore Dumfries and Galloway. It's a 3 star hotel that fights well above it's weight in lots of areas and we've already booked to return! We were lucky enough to get the bridal suite (totally accidentally - we just booked the last available room) which was massive - a huge bedroom with an equally huge and comfortable bed, a lovely sitting room with TV and comfy sofas, and a perfect ensuite bathroom, all with the same views across the rolling countryside. The food was delicious, both breakfasts and dinners, and the staff were fantastic, dealing with some awkward guests with professionalism, courtesy and aplomb. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the whole staff team were genuinely lovely and friendly. One of the best things about the hotel was how unpretentious it was - the posh set and the builder wearing flipflops to dinner were made to feel equally welcome, and with no judgement.

Everything, the staff were delightful and very welcoming, the comfort of the room was amazing. Very clean place to stay. The food was delicious and loved our stay, we will be back
