Location is fabulous. We did have a car but buses were readily available. Bakery, supermarket and lovely restaurants all within walking distance. Direct access to lake shore was very nice. Staff very helpful.

Villa Carolina was an excellent find situated right next to lake Annecy. The hotel is modern, beautifully decorated with excellent attention to detail and cleanliness. The room was a good size with lovely views of the lake. We found the accommodation really quiet and comfortable. The aircon was really good and also really quiet. The WiFi worked well and there were good facilities in the room including a fridge, kettle and coffee machine. The team were helpful and friendly and we particularly liked the garden which has easy access to the lake for safe open water swimming. We had dinner in the hotel one night which was also excellent. The hotel is situated very close to the cycle path around Lake Annecy which also connects to other good cycling routes. We were easily able to cycle to Albertville only having to ride a couple of short road sections. We also cycled up the "Col De Le Forclaz", located close to the hotel, which has featured in Tour De France stages in the past, consisting of a 10km climb at 12% during certain points on the climb, not for the faint hearted!

We loved everything! The beautiful garden, the little beach for lake swimming, the comfy rooms, the lovely staff, breakfast, the spa, the view from our room. This is a gem of a hotel and we will surely be returning.
