We stayed at Sandymount Hotel in Apr 2025 at the end of a 4 week road trip around Ireland. The facilities and room were neat, good quality and well set out. Free onsite parking and reasonably close walk to shops. The restaurant was pretty good quality although the prices were a little steep. Make sure you try the honey comb crumble desert - it was to die for. The only negative was the beds were double size - it’s been a while since I’ve stayed at a hotel without Queen or King sized beds.

All very good, check in staff a bit confused. Was asked three times by the same girl was I checking in and my name. Three times about 4min apart. Bar staff over run and told us we would need to wait as he was making seven coffees. Apart from that the room, hotel and breakfast were all top notch.

The Sandymount hotel surpassed all expectations and was exceptional value for money. All staff were so friendly and accommodating. The hotel itself is lovely throughout, free parking and EV charging was a wonderful surprise and especially handy having driven from the England. Location was perfect for us, out the way of the busy city centre but only a quick taxi or reasonable walk in to town. Always much rather support an independent business too which was an added bonus.

Hotel room was clean but the bathroom was not good. The top of the toliet was stained and the cupboard under the sinks cover was peeling away and bubbling . It gave the bathroom an unclean feel , not what you would want when paying €100+ a night.
