For what we needed this was perfect. Our daughter lives in that area and it was convenient to walk in the morning for a visit. There is a Carrefour store in the building, a pharmacy, a coffee shop (excellent coffee), nearby walking / running truck, a few restaurants, swimming pool and plenty of space for kids. Mohamed was a great host and very accommodating to a few special requests we've had. Dubai Hills Mall is relatively close (20 minutes drive) with excellent choice of restaurants and shopping.
