The fine print
Directions: Driving from Inverness, follow signs for Fort William and Drumnadrochit on the A82. A 14 mile drive will bring you to Drumnadrochit. Continue through the village passing two sets of traffic lights, after the 2nd traffic lights turn right onto Balmacaan Road, and continue to the top of the road. The road then forks to the right onto single track, take this road and continue past the farm (on the right) for 10 metres and then take the next right at the wooden gates. Ridgewood Apartment is on your left.Driving from Fort William, follow the A82 until you see the sign for Drumnadrochit. Go past Borlum Horse Riding Farm and Urquhart Castle. 5 minutes from the castle you will go over a small bridge continue on the A82 until you see a set of traffic lights. Turn left just before the traffic lights and onto Balmacaan Road, and continue to the top of the road. The road then forks to the right onto single track, take this road and continue past the farm (on the right) for 10 metres and then take the next right at the wooden gates. Ridgewood Apartment is on your left.This property will not accommodate hen, stag or similar parties.

I would highly recommend Ridgewood Apartment, it was clean and tidy and in a lovely location. Our host was super friendly and very accommodating. We where greeted with a lovely basket full of fresh eggs, bread ect... The apartment was very clean and felt very homely. There is a nice pub down the road for food and in a good location for walks to Falls of Divach and other woodland walks.

We had a very comfortable and cosy week here. Ridgeway apartment has a high quality finish. There is a large comfortable leather sofa in the spacious living room. The kitchen has an induction hob, efficient oven and microwave. We slept very well because the bedroom has blackout curtains and the bed is very comfortable. On the bed were two beautifully presented white bathrobes and slippers for us. In the en-suite bathroom there is a superb, powerful walk-in shower and Teresa provides expensive soap and shampoo etc which were a real treat. The welcome basket provided us with all those things you need when you first arrive, milk, butter, eggs, cereal, home baked bread and biscuits - perfect! The location is on the edge of the village. Although you drive through a residential area to get there, the apartment is away from the houses up a country lane. No problem parking there. One of the best finds for us was that only a few minutes walk from the apartment is an ancient forest called Balmacaan Woods with lots of history and stunning trees. From here there are lovely views and various trails to explore. Although Drumnadrochit is mostly busy with tourists visiting Loch Ness, there are many beautiful walking areas nearby, such as Glen Affric and Glenshiel. Just over an hour is the Eilean Donan Castle and just a bit further on from there is the Isle of Skye, easily accessed for a day trip. Teresa is a lovely host.

Very clean, excellent shower, In an idyllic spot, with a lovely outdoor seating area. The host couldn’t do enough and provided bathrobes and slippers, and popped round with a hamper, milk, the freshest eggs I have ever tasted and home made bread it was a lovely surprise. Sorry we couldn’t stay longer and make use of the log burner.

It is a lovely cottage with a terrace, it has everything you could possible need with a lot of personal touch. Everything is new, sparkling clean and looks wonderful! The hosts are amazing, extremely helpful and they really went above and beyond for us! The welcome basket is such a nice gesture and we enjoyed all the treats from it, served as a delicious breakfast with local home made products! I would recommend this place and would definitely love to come back!
