A good budget hotel within walking distance of the harbour. When the boat from Rhodes arrives, someone from the hotel is waiting with a minibus to pick up tourists. There are several restaurants and a small shop by the sea. The room wasn't very large (it had two beds). There's a refrigerator in a small kitchen. The bathroom is really tiny. The shower area (separated by a curtain) was also far too small. The shower head can't be hung up. The breakfast is delicious. But there could be a bit more bread. You can request more bread, but I don't know how many times you can ask that… The father organises day trips by boat to Saria, the uninhabited island north of Karpathos. Highly recommended! For €20, they take you to Olympos, the most beautiful site in all of Karpathos. Olympos is a wonderful place to stay a few days!

The hotel was comfortable, spotlessly clean and ideally located. But the main asset of this hotel is the kind, friendly helpfulness of the family who run it. Many thanks for your help in organising everything!

Had a great stay at Balaskas. Hotel is family owned and they were so warm and welcoming. The building is old but renovated and furniture and decoration new. Comfortable bed. Wifi worked perfectly. Michalis gave us great tips for what to do and his father took us on an unforgettable boat trip. In all we were completely happy.
