Great location. Very helpful and polite staff, with good service. Genuinely dog-friendly. Nice room, which was clean and comfortable. Restaurant was a bonus, delicious evening meals.

We stayed in room 7, the king room with a 4 poster bed overlooking the courtyard. But what the details fail to mention is that the sash window opens up over the kitchen roof. Also the ducting from the extraction fan runs a foot from your window and the top has no bend on or cowling meaning all the cooking smells flow into your room if the window is open. On Sunday morning the extraction fan was turned on at 05 45 , fantastic,. Woke up feeling like i was in the engine room of a ship. On check out my wife and I relayed our comments to the management only to be told by the chef on 3 occasions, that they could do nothing about the noise and smell, really🤔 Obviously they had issues previously but he was totally dismissive of our comments and walked off into the distance leaving, who we assume to be his partner to apologise. Was not going to mention this before our run in with the council Gordon Ramsey but do not expect to turn up early ,order a drink and sit at the bar as there is no seating available apart from the courtyard which we were told we couldn't do😃 really! Oh and do not run a bath as the plug leaks. Ps the staff were lovely

The staff was exceptionally welcoming, and when I had a problem they solved it in a kind and efficient manner. One cannot ask for more! I would definitely stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Black Swan. Room was comfortable and quiet. Lovely to have nice coffee, shortbread biscuits and chilled water. Breakfast choice was excellent and with quality ingredients. Parking nearby was reasonably easy. We ate in the restaurant one evening and it was excellent.
