We had an amazing 10 day stay at Marie and Fred's! Lovely friendly couple! The Gite had everything you needed. The patio area was lovely to sit out on in the evening, surrounded by mango and palm trees. Grande Anse beach is just down the road, about 3 minute walk. Plage La Perle, where Death in Paradise shack is, is about 30 minutes walk, we took the walk along the coast which was lovely! 30 minute walk in to Deshaies, or literally a 2 minute bus ride, though the buses don't run late in the evening. We didn't mind the walk back to be honest, we felt very safe over there, the Guadeloupean people are honestly the friendliest people I've ever met! Lovely!! I really can't wait to return! Bliss!! Very comfortable and tastefully decorated with lots of nice touches. Good shower, lots of practical facilities for eating in. Even though there were 4 of us in 3 separate rooms we could all sit and eat together. The pool was lovely and lots of shade and there was a separate communal area with comfy chairs etc. very friendly & helpful hosts.

This property is a small group of bungalows surrounded by trees and gardens, giving it a lovely peaceful, rustic atmosphere. The owners Fred and Marie were charming hosts. We had a 1-bed bungalow and it was very comfortable and well-equipped, with lots of individual touches that made it more homely. Outside was a terrace with kitchenette, table and chairs. The small swimming pool with loungers was very relaxing, and nearby there is a communal open lounge that provides somewhere else to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Just a short stroll takes you down to Grand Anse beach where there are several restaurants, although they are only open during the day. For dining in the evening we generally drove along to Deshaies which is about 2 miles away.
