We booked a four-bed room – two of the beds had firm mattresses and two had softer ones, which was a nice balance. The room itself was very spacious, and the terraces are a great feature. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of food and hot drinks. What I didn’t know before coming is that the whole hotel – every building, room, and corridor – feels like a kind of museum. There are so many old and fascinating objects everywhere. It’s a kind of organized chaos that somehow fits together perfectly. If you walk down the same hallway several times, you’ll notice new details each time. In the bar, you can see an eight-person kayak hanging from the ceiling, a ship’s sail, carnival carts, and many other interesting details.

This is a unique place, the central building with a bar, sofas, and a basic eating area is wildly decorated and a feast for your eyes, a great place to have a drink, read or play board games. The whole site is easily accessible, and there is a Sicilian pizza sit-in & takeaway two mins walk down the road that was very good. The room and bathroom were enormous and we had fabulous balcony view over the marshland that was quite special.
