“little gem of Daxi”

The owner is a very nice and knowledgeable lady who was thoughtful and keen to share about Daxi. We've learnt a lot about Daxi from her and really cherished our friendship during the stay. We are very inspired by her passion in reconstructing old buildings and revitalising old town while supporting local crafts. We also like that Sinnan old street is a lot quieter than Daxi old street but within walking distance to all tourist spots. room is spacious and bed comfy with all cotton bedsheets.

The property has a retro feel and well conserved. It looks retro and yet has incorporated modern features and amenities. The room is spacious and well designed for the comfort of the guests.

The host Pei Yee was fantastic with enormous hospitality and welcoming! This is a great stay in Daxi, which is only 30 mins drive from Taipei. You will be housed in a 129yrs old historical home. There's a cute little cafe upfront. You stayed in an independent house (behind)on the 2nd floor, and the host and families stay in another house further behind. You can visit Daxi without plans, Pei Yee is a wonderful host and travel guide who will help draft a simple but realistic sightseeing, food hunting, or cultural experiences daily plan. All the food places recommended to us were very good, electrified, and loved by locals. Though the room is house on the 2nd floor, Pei Yee's husband was very helpful in the luggages. There is 1000% privacy and peaceful sleep being there are only 2 rooms and ONLY one group will be hosted at any one time(1st room sleeps 2 and 2nd room for 4) For bigger families with sleeping bags, they can be arranged too. We have the entire place for 2 of us(as a grp) for 4 nights. There's a fantastic foodstall opposite considered as the kitchen of Sinnan old street, which all locals love!! It's really delicious and worthy. Book as early as possible, always limited availabilities!!!
