This was my second time staying at Shambhala, and it was just as wonderful as the first. The host is amazing, so warm and welcoming, truly making it feel like a home away from home.

The island. If you want to have a unique experience, book in a night or two at Shambhala. Take a bottle of wine and some binoculars (if parrots and pelicans excite you). You'll feel welcome and inspired by the Buddah meets best garden you've ever seen/ art studio/ Frida Kahlo space. With mesmerising views, oh so comfortable beds, and some well trained cute pets. Alternatively, if you want to pretend you're on a tropical island, in Thailand, (you really could fool yourself into believing it)- jump off the train and onto the ferry. Karen's hosting is a fabulous balance of making sure you have everything you need- engaging conversation- and giving you your alone time.

Location close to beach, bush walk track, bowling club, hall, cafe and ferry service. Karen’s home is very homely with beautiful gardens abound. Karen herself, is welcoming, accomodating and good fun!
