“Hidden gem”

We had an amazing stay at Kandalama Lodge in Dambulla. The place is peaceful, beautifully designed, and blends perfectly with nature. Our room was clean, comfy, and had a lovely outdoor bathroom. The pool was spotless and perfect for cooling off. The food was delicious – I especially loved the barramundi fish! What really made the experience special was the staff, especially Madushan, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Highly recommend this hidden gem! I don’t recommend the airport transfer service.

Fantastic staff. Nothing was too much trouble. They kicked up the spice levels back to normal for us, which was a rare find in Sri Lanka, as most places take out almost all the spice when they see a European tourist ordering. We would stay again

Fantastic stay. Lodge was so comfortable and spotless. Fabulous outdoor bathroom and great veranda. Food was amazing and staff couldn't do enough for us. Such a friendly place. Fantastic pool area. All staff were excellent, especially young waiter in restaurant and Madushan.

A perfect place for a tranquil getaway. So nice to only have 5 rooms so the whole experience felt very personal. They also arranged trips for us to Sigiriya and an elephant safari. As well as a taxi to our next hotel. All of which had excellent informative friendly drivers. The food and drinks were excellent and very well organised with impeccable service. Would love to come back and stay again as it felt like they took the time to get to know us. Special thanks to Madushan who spoke perfect English and always went above and beyond to ensure our trip was perfect.
