“we will definitely come back with paddle board to explore the area more”

We had a truly unforgettable stay at Ardbrecknish House – a historic place full of character and soul. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat surrounded by raw Scottish nature, this is it. The house is nestled on the shores of Loch Awe, offering breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere. At night, we could hear tawny owls calling through the trees – and I could swear I spotted a bat flying overhead. Magical. The location is perfect for exploring the Highlands. It's just about 1.5 hours’ drive to the Glenfinnan Viaduct, where you can see the iconic "Harry Potter train" (the Jacobite Steam Train), and around 1 hour 40 minutes to Loch Ness, if you’re planning a full-day scenic drive through Glencoe and the Great Glen. Just a few minutes’ drive from the house, we also discovered the hauntingly beautiful ruins of Kilchurn Castle – standing guard over the loch like a silent ghost of the past. The place is quiet, atmospheric, and full of history – perfect for nature lovers, hikers, and anyone looking to disconnect from modern chaos. We’ll definitely remember the peace and magic we found here.

The location is beautiful and quiet. The Study was perfect for a couple. The four poster bed was comfy. It was good value for money
