Tim “Beautiful area but apartment was disappointing”

The apartment is comfortable but in my opinion not Superb, I don't understand why there are so many 10 star reviews. We had the apartment with the side view, it's very clean and functional and does a job but that is it, there are no luxuries here. The bed was very comfortable, and it is a good base for walking and the area is beautiful with spectacular scenery.

The biggest highlight is the view of the mountains from the balcony, it is beyond beautiful and so incredible to be so close to nature. There is a lovely walk two minutes away, where there are picnic benches on the side of the town where you can look at the beautiful views. The property itself is great. Clean, functional, quiet. It wasn't the most modern but that didn't bother us in the slightest. We were there for the nature.

Apartment was cold despite using the heaters. Bedroom was nice, however we felt the description was misleading, yes we could see the mountain but only a tiny, thin balcony overlooking the back of the property which was quite grotty. Very strange layout of lounge and kitchen, not at all homely, dark claustrophobic and basic. Position of TV too high. Kitchen not that well equipped, no sharp knives to prepare food, no recycling facilities. We wouldn’t book again as not good value for money. Owner was friendly and responsive.

Manuel was really friendly and gave us loads of great information about Madeira and local area. Place was clean and we could even wash our clothes.
