Dinner was pretty good, starters were excellent but was let down by the main course, the fish was rubbery, over cooked. The room was quaint but somewhat dated

Charming! If your looking for all mod cons this won’t suit you. We were travelling with our whippet cross and were made to feel welcome and this is one of the most dog friendly stays we have had in a hotel. Breakfast sausage for the dog! Efficient and friendly staff.

Loved the pub itself and the way the rooms are set out. Lovely beer gardens, great location, friendly staff.

The Bear has bags of character. Higglety pigglety corridors, nice outdoor seating in summer, friendly staff, and right in the centre of a lovely little town.
