The reception staff was very good and excellent, assisting and dealing with querries, as well as organising a superb room in the main building with great garden views, for a small £20 upgrade fee from a standard room (in a 'stallet building overlooking the car park!). She also gave us a tpur and told us about the history of the house (always interesting when you are staying in a historical building and setting).
