We stayed in the little cave room and absolutely loved it! There was a heatwave at the time and it was so cool and dark and quiet, we slept so well. The main room is carved into the rock, so unusual and cosy. Just mind your head! There’s a gorgeous wisteria overhanging the walkway to the door, it was almost over when we were there but would be glorious in full flower. Audrey was a wonderful host, the perfect balance of friendly while giving us our privacy. The breakfast, served on your own private terrace, was very good, and so nice to just roll out of bed and find it outside. The pool area has plenty of sun loungers and also a barbecue area which guests can use. we were the only people down there a lot of the time! It has a lovely view across the gardens to the hill beyond. It’s a short walk to the village but very steep - beware in heatwave of extremely sweaty arrival! The village has two restaurants and a small bakery/charcuterie but no real shop so you’d be best with a car.
