The house was in great condition. It was good that there was Internet which I used to stay in contact with family members.

After booking and paying for our stay, the property contacted us re "finalising" our reservation. They demanded ID verification and a £250 damage deposit with £10 admin fee or £25 damage waiver. NONE OF THIS is mentioned in the policies/important information on booking.com. We paid the latter to avoid any "issues" getting our deposit back. The code for the key box had not been provided by check in - had to call to get it over the phone, was then sent. On arrival I turned on the kitchen tap - it fell apart in my hand. It was already broken but had been carefully "reassembled" to look OK. No phone coverage in the area and the Internet was both poor and intermittent throughout our stay.
