Lee “Safe, Biker friendly, great location with a bonus museum and value for money”

A motorcycle friendly guesthouse with secure parking in a courtyard with an electric gate for motorcycles and separate from the main guest carpark. The guesthouse has it's own museum, depicting what life was like in Eastern Germany after WW2 and pre Unification with West Germany as the owner was born in Colditz Castle when it was a hospital for the town. Lots of photos showing the renovation of the guesthouse from farm buildings. My room was clean and bright and had it's own on suite bathroom. The accommodation block has a lift. A large selection of food for breakfast. As the guesthouse is on a hill. It is possible to walk into Colditz but is a steep incline back up the hill. Take note that with the exception of the Italian restaurant opposite Lidl which closes at 22:00. The other restaurants close at 20:00. If you are visiting Colditz and partaking in a tour of Colditz Castle. This guesthouse is an added bonus.

Good location for visiting Colditz if you have a car - but walkable too. Very friendly staff and good breakfast.

It was quirky, fun, interesting, good breakfast, a short walk into Colditz town, downhill all the way. Parking was good. Large room and bed. No English spoken, but that was ok, we managed well. Colditz Castle was completely fab. The Histo-pads amazing. Can't stop raving about it and them.

It is a 30 minute walk to the castle. The hotel provides an authentic DDR experience - take it as it is or don't take it! They have an amazing museum of DDR artefacts.
