The fine print
The property will send you an SMS on day of arrival around 14:30 with the code to the front door so that you can check yourself in from 15:00. This will be sent to the number attached to the booking. If you wish it to be sent to a different number, you will be asked additional security questions. The property require you to be contactable by mobile phone or email during your stay.Please note that the lodge operates a self check-in policy and you are unlikely to see a member of staff during your stay. A housekeeper will be available by telephone.Early check-in between 12:00 and 15:00 can be arranged for a GBP 10 surcharge. This is subject to availability and must be requested in advance.Please note that a maximum of 2 pets can be accommodated at this property for an additional cost of GBP 10 per pet per stay (pets are not suitable for the small double room).The property is close to train station and hospital and some of the rooms may be affected by noise.As the rooms are small and there are steep stairs, this property may not be suitable for those with mobility problems. If unsure please ask.This property will not accommodate hen, stag or similar parties.

Comfy and pleasant. Perfectly close enough to railway station. Easy access on arrival and included car parking space. Great property with fridge microwave and kettle with tea coffee and water. Will come again if in area

I stayed at the Railway Sleeper 3 or 4 times. The reason I come back every time when I'm in Colchester, are the facilities in the room, cleanliness, and location. The room is small, but there's a small folding table and folding chaiir to create working/ eating space. There's a microwave , a small fridge with complementary drinks, and plenty of coffee & tea.

It was a great location for Colchester Castle, so within easy walking distance for an event we were going to. The room was clean and self check in was easy. It was great that there was free off road parking available, and the room had good facilities and information about the local area.
