The hotel was very close to the center, the bed comfortable, the bathroom small, but sufficient for a short stay.

Moderna sits on one of Coimbra’s narrow historic streets, which gives the accommodation a genuine sense of the city’s character. Staying there feels connected to the older part of Coimbra, with its traditional architecture and quiet charm. I first stayed here in 2024, shortly after the refurbishment. Returning two years later, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the “Residencial” remains spotless and very well maintained. The level of care put into the property is still evident in the cleanliness, the condition of the furnishings, and the overall presentation of the rooms. The room includes air conditioning, which is useful throughout the year—cooling the space during warm weather and providing reliable heating on colder days. Everything in the room was clean and in good working order, contributing to a comfortable stay. The staff continue to be helpful and polite, offering a welcoming and professional atmosphere that complements the accommodation’s charm.
